At the Centre for Green Growth, we are on a mission to empower African communities and institutions to build climate resilience through innovative policy initiatives, transformative local project, private sector engagement and, collaboration with governments. Our core belief is rooted in the creation of lasting impact by addressing critical challenges in climate adaptation and resilience across various domains, with a particular focus on those most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

At the Centre for Green Growth, our motivation  is underpinned by a steadfast commitment to addressing the pressing challenges of climate change in Africa. We take concrete actions to empower communities, institutions, and businesses across the continent to build resilience and adapt to the changing climate.

The Centre operates across a spectrum of focus areas to achieve its mission and bring its vision to life.

Food Security

 Ensuring that communities have access to sustainable and resilient food sources is at the heart of our efforts. We work to develop strategies and solutions that safeguard food production and distribution in the face of climate challenges.

Gender and Climate Adaptation

Recognizing that gender plays a crucial role in resilience building, we promote gender-responsive approaches in all our initiatives. We empower women and address gender-specific vulnerabilities in the face of climate change.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

In a changing climate, the frequency and severity of disasters are on the rise. We are dedicated to helping communities prepare for and respond to disasters, reducing their impact on vulnerable populations.

Cities and Infrastructure

Resilient infrastructure is crucial for the well-being of communities. We collaborate with stakeholders to develop infrastructure solutions that can withstand the impacts of climate change.

Extreme weather events are increasing. We must properly adapt and build resilience quickly.

Presently the world is inadequately adapted and Maladapted (actions or strategies intended to address the impacts of climate change but ultimately  problems).  Due in part to the following:

Our vision is to build resilience and adapt 10 million people in Africa to the adverse effects of climate change by 2030- Agenda 10:30.
