The Centre acts as an independent third party. We are not the project developer and we are not the buyer, which is what makes the verification worth something to both.
We work across sub-Saharan Africa with project developers, governments, and civil society organisations whose climate claims need to stand up to scrutiny.
How verification works
Four stages, from first conversation to a report you can submit.
1. Scoping
Tell us what the project is, where it operates, and which standard you are targeting. We establish whether the project is ready for verification or needs preparatory work first.
2. Readiness review
We assess your monitoring data, methodology, and documentation against the requirements of the standard, and set out what has to close before verification can begin.
3. Verification
Independent third-party verification of project outcomes, emission reductions, and credit claims, conducted as a party with no stake in the result.
4. Reporting
You receive verification findings in the form your registry, regulator, or purchaser requires, with the underlying evidence traceable throughout.
